ILEC Instruments

ILEC Instruments was founded by Jürgen Schindler and Rudolf Brözel in 1981. All ILEC products are manufactured in Germany.

The sailplane instrument manufacturing business started with the famous variometer SB-7 in 1981, followed by the SB-8, the SB-9, and now the SN-10. There are now thousands of ILEC systems in use world wide.

Also an important business at ILEC is the design and manufacture of the motor control units for all Schempp-Hirth and Schleicher motor-gliders.

Jürgen Schindler is now proprietor of the ILEC GmbH, as sadly Rudolf Brözel left ILEC in 1994 with grave health problems and passed away in 1998.
